Expected voltage reading K3 Display ? at full RF output.

Clifford Hynds
Just a general question, thought my new power supply was dropping voltage
on TX but no it is rock solid, I get about 1V drop at full power CW on the
K3 Display. Is this normal,

I have already replaced the troublesome PA pins is there something else
that would cause this.

Don't think the drop over the power lead would cause it

Any ideas appreciated,
Cliff VK2CCJ

Sounds a little high to me.  Mine drops from 14.6 to 14.1 under full power CW.

You say "new power supply," so if that problem wasn't present before and
you've changed nothing but the power supply, that would be the first
place I'd look. Maybe there is a problem with the connectors.

Measure voltage at the power supply end and you'll have a better idea.

Cliff, there is a wealth of information already written on this subject. I
suggest you check the archives. Some drop is normal but the amount depends
on your setup. The direct answer to your question depends on several
factors. You need to determine where the voltage drop is occurring. It may
be your power supply itself in which case there is nothing to be done other
than finding a better supply. You can decrease drop by using bigger and
shorter wire.
