No, that's not needed, at least not with current firmware (2.04).
Just do a "direct frequency entry" to put the rig back within the band:
Press BAND+ and BAND- simultaneously and note a row of -------- across the
frequency display. Now enter a frequency on the numeric keys and the rig
will automatically go to that frequency with all the relays enabled properly
for that band.
For any operators who haven't used direct frequency entry, the rig shifts
the moment you have the frequency entered. Note that for 160 meters, it's
necessary to enter a zero first to the logic won't confuse 1.8 MHz with 18
MHz.
