Hello all,
After having completed the assembly process of the K3, it was time to check for updates with the utility software. All seems to work, but. I saw an update op DSP2 (1.55). In my K3 the status was N/A. An update I would say. But the button send to K3 wasn't available. Was this on purpose? Thanks, Evert PA2KW PS: Downloaded the newest utility program and Prolific driver for Elecraft KUSB. _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. DSP2 is for the subreceiver .. and you don't have one.

Yes - DSP2 refers to the second receiver and you don't have it. 73 -- Don

Hello Don and others
Thanks. No, I haven't got the sub-RX. I'll wait for the "first movers" experience (advantage? :-) ) 73's, Evert PA2KW K2-SN4836 K3-SN0812 -----Original Message----- From: Don Ehrlich [mailto:[hidden email]] Sent: Friday, May 02, 2008 22:24 To: [hidden email]; 'Elecraft Reflector' Subject: Re: [Elecraft] Firmware uploads DSP2 is for the subreceiver .. and you don't have one. I tried to address this with the K3 Utility Help text for the Firmware page:
DSP2 The sub receiver's Digital Signal Processor, present only if the KRX3 Second Receiver Option is installed and enabled through the K3 CONFIG menu. Installed in K3 Indicates the firmware versions installed in the K3 for each of these processors. N/A indicates that the hardware option is not installed or has not been enabled through the K3 CONFIG menu. In this case, the KRX3 second receiver option has not been enabled in your K3. The related firmware file is "available" in that it's in the firmware folder on your PC. But your K3 has no second receiver to receive the file. The "Send all new firmware to K3" button is disabled because MCU and DSP1 have the "available" version already installed, and there are no processors in the K3 that have back-level firmware (comparing what's installed versus what's available in the PC's firmware folder). When your KRX3 is installed and enabled (via a CONFIG menu option), the K3 Utility will load the corresponding DSP file. I have the DSP board part of the KRX3 installed in my K3 for testing (I don't have the rest of the 2nd receiver) and the K3 Utility is able to load that DSP2. The firmware authors that have the rest of the 2nd receiver have loaded their DSP2 many, many times. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Evert Bakker (PA2KW) Sent: Friday, May 02, 2008 1:12 PM To: 'Elecraft Reflector' Subject: [Elecraft] Firmware uploads Hello all, After having completed the assembly process of the K3, it was time to check for updates with the utility software.
