Hey Gents,
I am about a week away from my one year as a licensed amateur. I want to thank all of you for allowing me to be a part of the crew. It has been a blast! I have been totally enjoying this fun hobby and it is made even cooler because of the camaraderie and friendships that I have made with each of you. This hobby has it all. Satisfaction of completion (like awards, getting that new grid square/entity), technical challenges (getting the nut to tune), intellectually exploration (debate about antennas, baluns, solar cycles, etc), and even physical labor components (tower erections, field day, antenna mods & moves). All in all you can't ask for a more interesting and intriguing hobby. Anyhow as this first year comes to a close, I am appreciative and grateful for friends and family who are always there to lend a hand or give a gentle word of advice. I hope and pray that each of you and your families have an awesome holiday season and as we look onto the new year ahead that we continue to have new accomplishments, overcome new technical and intellectual challenges and erect some new towers (Monroe, others). Warm Regards, Keith Sent from my iPhone please excuse typos ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Keith,
Thank you for the kind words and let me tell you there are some great folks on this reflector, from them you will learn a great deal as well as get quite a few chuckles along the way. I too enjoy the hobby very much and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of the members of this esteemed group. May each and everyone of you enjoy the coming holiday season and the risk of being politically incorrect (and I'm good at that) my family and I wish you all a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year, good health and happiness in the new year. Gary,
Thanks! I am glad that I made this email to the elecraft crew too. I am extremely thankful for all my friendships I have made along the way in amateur radio. At least now the entire elecraft crew knows when I ask questions that I am a an ignorant newbie like my buddies I originally meant to send the message to this morning! Hihi! Happy holidays!!! Keith, I have completed 60 years in this hobby this December 8th! The hobby is still fun and I'm still learning! Not that I've been active all of those years but there has always been a rig of some kind in the house. I hope you will continue to enjoy this hobby for many years! Hi Keith,
So glad to hear that you are enjoying the hobby, and I hope that you will continue to enjoy it for many years to come. My first transmitter (1946) was built on a wooden breadboard "borrowed" from my Mother, I did ask her before using it! Happy holidays. 73, Geoff LX2AO (VQ8AK, VE3GL, VE2AIO, GM4ESD) On December 11, 2011 at 4:54 PM, Keith Heimbold wrote: > Hey Gents, > > I am about a week away from my one year as a licensed amateur.
