Fishing rod poles in the US

Paul Wilton
I'm off to Orlando in a few weeks time and will probably be taking my K2
along with me.  I was thinking of taking my 6.7m "SOTA" pole
(www.sotabeams.co.uk)  with me as an antenna support but I'm a bit
concerned about getting a big enough bag for it to go in.  Hence, I was
wondering what the likelihood is of finding an equivalent in a fishing
shop near Orlando.  Any comments?

Wal Mart stores abound in the South, and Orlando should have some well
equipped with fishing poles.  They will be cheaper there, (less dear), than
in the dedicated fishing shops.

Paul,
In the fishing stores this is called a "Crappie Pole". It has nothing to do with Sir John Crapper, it is a breed of fish. You can find it in most fishing stores. In Orlando there is a "Bass Pro Shop" which should have them.

Cabella's is the source that I often use but I don't see one listed on Orlando.

Now for the other sugestion. My Xyl made a drawstring bag for mine in about five minutes. I put two poles in the bag draw the string closed. There is a luggage tag on both the string and sewn to the bag. I have had no problems traveling with them as checked baggage.
