Frankly...

Julius Fazekas n2wn
Don't know about anyone else, but I find Alex NS6Y's
comments not only out of the spirit of this reflector
and ham radio, but downright offensive.

My apologies to all non Americans for those
non-representative comments.

My apologies to Eric as well...

Julius

I second that. Apologies to my Canadian friends for this inconsiderate
continual posting on this fine reflector.

Re: Frankly...

David A. Belsley
I hesitated voicing similar sentiments because Eric had asked that
this thread be dropped. However, upon further reflection (this is,
after all a reflector), I feel it important to add my voice generally
to these apologies to our Canadian friends and to all non-Americans.
The comments given here were, in my estimation, singularly unFUNNY,
and, I hope, completely unrepresentative of the feelings of the vast
majority of my countrymen.  I read them with incredulity,
particularly as they went on and on.  As I have already expressed to
Robert, VE3RPF, privately, I cannot apologize for anyone -- although
I believe apologies are due --, but I can express my sorrow that such
statements were made, particularly as they were apparently in
ernest.  This is most unfortunate.

my best wishes,

dave belsley, w1euy

As a non-American I have to say that I was taken aback by the tone of
the comments in "that thread".

I have spent time on Usenet (or Abuse-net as it should be called) and I
was reminded of some of the things that occur there.

I never thought I'd have to resort to using a "kill-filter" to remove
the posts of a particular member of the Elecraft community, but last
night I did just that!

If I want xenophobic rants, and "The US is best" sentiments I'll hang
out in the seedier back-waters of the net. This list has always struck
me as one of the friendliest and "on-topic" places.

Let's hope we can return to normal business.
