Was good to meet the Elecraft people at Sea-Pac... It was interesting
how the crowd was at Elecraft's display, and not at the other major radio maker literately right next door to them. In fact, I watched one of the other radio makers sales people, staring at the Elecraft table in amazement at the size of the crowd at the Elecraft table. Only gripe: Elecraft charges for their hats! :) -- Thanks and 73's, For equipment, and software setups and reviews see: www.nk7z.net for MixW support see; http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mixw/info for Dopplergram information see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/dopplergram/info for MM-SSTV see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MM-SSTV/info ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

The crowds are typical. Since last year, I've been to Dayton,
Pacificon, IDXC/Visalia and now SeaPac, and that's what one will see. Good to see Lisa, as always. I'm surprised that she doesn't get writer's cramp from taking so many orders. For as great as the TS-990 seems to be, I've yet to see a crowd gathered around it, even when it was new. Good convention. My first time here. 73 de Jim - AD6CW P.S. You're reopening a can of worms from Dayton last year, bringing up the issue of Elecraft charging for the hats. Manufacturers like Yaesu and Icom can afford to give away hats. They probably cost them $2 in quantity, and they have large advertising budgets. Also, they are cheaply-made in comparison to the ones that Elecraft sells. I wore my hat at every one of my son-in-law's singles and doubles matches
in the NC Men's Am Tennis tournament for 5 straight days/nights this week. I was really proud when people asked me what my hat meant. If you have one of these, you have a special hat no matter how you got it. In my case, it's what's under the hat that needs new firmware.

It's also good to see that Wayne AND his sense of humor survived Sea
Pac. My wife and I are heading out to HamCom in Plano, TX this week to give Eric & his wife a hand there. Hopefully they'll return with their wits intact as well. Hey guys!
I don't know what you're talking about when you say them hats aren't free... I got a free one at Dayton a month ago. Then again, i did order the KAT/KPA500 and the W2 while there :-) __________________ Slava (Sal) B, W2RMS [hidden email] On Jun 9, 2014, at 8:45 AM, Jim's Desktop <[hidden email]> wrote: > It's also good to see that Wayne AND his sense of humor survived Sea Pac. > > My wife and I are heading out to HamCom in Plano, TX this week to give Eric & his wife a hand there. > Hopefully they'll return with their wits intact as well. > > W0EB > > __________________________ > > And if your hat ever needs new firmware, it'll be free. >> >> Wayne >> >> >> ______________________________________________________________ > > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > Message delivered to [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

Hats??? You have got to be kidding me! The quality of the equipment
counts - as does the customer service. The hats? Not so much. Seems to me this same subject was beaten into the ground some months back also. Let's move on to important subjects. If you feel a need to reply via private email - I will post the emails for all to read. I certainly would not want anyone cheated out of reading what someone has to say. Dear God, the hats comment was a joke... I had no idea some festering
wound from a previous incarnation of a hat discussion was still in play for some of us... Please note the ":)" after the hat comment in my mail... Yes, there are ways to get a free hat.
Last year at Dayton I was sitting at the Elecraft booth, talking with Lisa. She was taking a $10k order from a man and his wife. The hat was free. 73 de Jim - AD6CW On 6/9/2014 5:56 AM, Slava Baytalskiy wrote: > Hey guys! > I don't know what you're talking about when you say them hats aren't free... > I got a free one at Dayton a month ago. > Then again, i did order the KAT/KPA500 and the W2 while there :-) > __________________ > Slava (Sal) B, W2RMS > [hidden email] ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

Wayne wasn't there, as far as I could tell. The booth was being ably
staffed by Lisa and a couple of volunteers.
