Hats

Kevin Rock
I don't think I would want just a K3 hat.  I would really like an Elecraft hat.  I have a number of their shirts and wear them at Field Day and to the ARES meetings.  The problem with having a K3 hat is the folks at Elecraft would also need to order K1 hats, K2 hats, KX1 hats, plus hats for each of the accessory kits.  An Elecraft hat would make much better financial sense for them to order and give to their cadre.  Remember: Elecraft makes many more rigs and kits than just the K3.  Let them determine how best to reward the stalwarts who wear out their throats talking to the madding crowd at the hamfests :)

In reply to this post by Kevin Rock
Who pays for hats that are given away?  In the end, the customers do, of
course.  Elecraft has small, informative, cost effective magazine ads that
maximize the return on their advertising budget by targeting their niche
market.

They don't have broad product lines as the Japanese companies do, so they
don't have to appeal to such a broad spectrum of customers.

I'd prefer they focus on making the radios that meet our needs and continue
to deliver outstanding support than spend money on hats.  All of my Yaesu
hats sit on a shelf in the closet.

Now if they want to have caps made and sell them as Ten-Tec does, that's
fine.

How about a hat that just says "Elecraft", as Kevin suggests, and then some
add-on patches or pins for the hat that describe what rigs you have?

Actually, I don't care much for baseball type caps--they don't provide
enough shade from the AZ sun!  I do like bucket hats though!  I'm not
holding my breath until somebody starts giving that style away.

Well Jim
If elecraft are so rich then after chalking out over 3k sterling for
my full loaded .....ish k3 then do you think they could perhaps post
me a nice Red cap and k3 button!
Their are now 3 of us in my club, Newbury RC, who have k3's and none
of us have ever seen a gorgous k3 cap let alone wear one.
Perhaps though, elecraft could include a cap and or button with each
new radio sold so wearing their logo with pride!!

PS....my club are in the process of ditching their contest x2 FT2k,
and buying k3's.

Re: Hats

juergen piezo

Hi Ken

I would prefer a free K3,airplane tickets for the Dayton Hamvention and a K3 Coffee mug.

Anyone one of these I would expect from Elecraft, bless their souls they so kind.

As the saying goes, keep on dreaming!

A better alternative would be joining  any London Merchant Bank, I hear that they are giving out Millions of  tax payer dollars in bonuses. I must be cursed I  dont have a bankers  job!

Hats and T-Shirts

Ken Kopp-3
Several have asked if I can do Elecraft caps and T-shirts ....

There is a hat attachment for my sewing machine that
will allow me to embroider caps, but it's cost would make
it difficult for me to make a profit.

Unless I limited orders to one or two colors, obtaining
and stocking the hats would be troublesome.  The same
limitations also apply to T-shirts ... perhaps even more so.

I'd be happy with either a white cap and black embroidery or vice versa.
Those are the colors on the Elecraft home page.

AD4C2009
I know for sure Elecraft team always hears and read us,so,right now they are thinking what to do to surprise us at Orlando hamfest with some goodies,I expect to see hats and T shirts that has the Elecraft logo embroided or something like that.
