I just picked up a Heil goldline GM-4 mic and it has an XLR connector
with 4 pins. I've been trying to find what the pins represent and as much as I've been able to figure pin 4 =PTT and pin 3 = shield/ground. I can't figure out what pin 2 and pin 1 go to, one of them has to be mic, it's not an electret mic so it does not need power. Below are the pin values for the K3 1 Mic audio, low-Z (~600 ohms) 2 PTT 3 DOWN button * 4 UP button * 5 FUNCTION button * 6 8V (10 mA max) 7, 8 Ground Anyone know what 1 & 2 on the mic connect to? 73, Gary KA1J --- This email is free from viruses and malware because avast! Check the Heil web site. Should have diagram of mic end. Just match it up with K3 diagram. Or just get the Kenwood cable from. Heil.

the Heil 4 pin XLR uses pins 3 and 4 for PTT , pin 2 for
the Mic, and pin 1 is shield/ground. according to: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rg4wpw/date.html On Apr 30, 2014, at 7:48 PM, Gary Smith <[hidden email]> wrote: > I just picked up a Heil goldline GM-4 mic and it has an XLR connector > with 4 pins. Thanks for the suggestion. I'd found this site earlier but didn't see
the mic pin info on it, just the info on the K3. 73, Gary > > the Heil 4 pin XLR uses pins 3 and 4 for PTT , pin 2 for > the Mic, and pin 1 is shield/ground. > > according to:http://homepage.ntlworld.com/rg4wpw/date.html > > > On Apr 30, 2014, at 7:48 PM, Gary Smith <[hidden email]> wrote: > > I just picked up a Heil goldline GM-4 mic and it has an XLR connector > with 4 pins.
