Heil ProSet versus ProSet Plus

Julius Fazekas n2wn
Any contesters care to comment on their experiences using one or the other, one versus the other. I have a ProSet, older one, and it seems to be fine, but am considering another one... just wonder if there is $70 worth of difference between the two.

well, seeing as the PSP is about using to different mic elements (wide/
narrow) and you should be able to achieve that via the Tx Eq, it may
not be, but at present, you can't easily switch between Tx EQ setups

New Heil HS coming

Ken Kopp-3
Of course Heil was an exhibitor at the recent Visalia DX Convention
and they were showing a new headset featuring active noise cancelling
that was impressive.  I've heard (briefly) the Bose noise cancelling HS
and the Heil is at least as good ... possibly a bit better.

If I understood correctly the mic/boom assembly will be detachable
with a knob at an earpiece and will be available in several cartridge
arrangements.  I believe they're to be available very soon.  AES has
already received product information from them.

Now, if Elecraft will stock them configured for Elecraft radios ....

I personally like the headphones on the ProSet Plus. I find them more comfortable. YMMV.

I assume you mean switching between "TWO" different mic inserts with the
PSP.

If you use K3 EZ it is very easy to switch between a variety of TX EQ
setups of your choice.

I don't think the original question was about microphone response, but
in general which is a better set for contesting.

Thanks for all the comments!

I'm quite happy with the mic element (HC-4 in my case). They're comfortable, but not as comfortable as the Sony Walkman headset I use for CW.

They sound "muffled" to me and require more drive for the headphones than the walkmans...

Will wait until I hear back from folks attending Dayton on the new ones.

Cheers,
