Do you have ALC indication with advancing mic gain?  IF not, be sure you
have the correct mic jack selected, the correct bias, and Mic hi/lo.  
Until you get ALC - which is just an audio level indicator, not an RF
indicator -- you will get no SSB Tx.

If this doesn't fix it, please contact Elecraft Support.
