On page 66 of the manual there are instructions for "Parameter Initialization".

You might also need to do a firmware load. The instructions for this are
in the K3 Utility. Search the help for "reset" or "troubleshooting." 73, KE7X Fred Cady Fcady at ke7x dot come "The Elecraft K3: Design, Configuration, and Operation" www.ke7x.com > -----Original Message----- > From: [hidden email] [mailto:elecraft- > [hidden email]] On Behalf Of Bob Cunnings > Sent: Sunday, September 18, 2011 9:45 AM > To: Elecraft Reflector > Subject: Re: [Elecraft] How to do soft or hard reset. > > On page 66 of the manual there are instructions for "Parameter > Initialization". > > Bob NW8L > > >I have searched the manual and can not find how to do a hard or soft > reset of > >K3 # 758.....can anyone help me. > > > >Tnx, > > > >NF8J, > > > >Paul > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Two alternatives. Try the first one first, the second one second.
1. After POWER OFF, removing power forces the K3 through a form of hard reset at next POWER ON. Leave power removed for 30 seconds or so, then reconnect and POWER ON. With this type of reset, you obviously won't lose any memories or your configuration. Don't remove power for a few seconds after POWERing OFF, so that your last VFO, etc. is remembered. 2. For a factory hard reset, look for the EEINIT or EE INIT procedure. This puts your K3 in factory settings, so be sure and save memories and configuration using the K3 utility, _before_ EE INIT'ing. You'll also need to re-run calibrations and (?) possibly re-install add-ons. I'm not sure of the latter, because it's been a long time since I EE INIT'ed K3 #24. 73, matt W6NIA On Sun, 18 Sep 2011 09:56:11 -0400, you wrote: >I have searched the manual and can not find how to do a hard or soft reset of K3 # 758.....can anyone help me. > >Tnx, > >NF8J, > >Paul >______________________________________________________________ >Elecraft mailing list >Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft >Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm >Post: mailto:[hidden email] > >This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net >Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
