I recently purchased an older K3 as my rig to take to our clubhouse. So it does not need to have all the bells and whistles. However, I note that Electraft no longer sells the mechanical strengtheners for the original synthesizers (and I have a sub receiver so I have two synthesizers). So does anyone have the old synthesizers complete with strengtheners that are surplus to requirements that I could purchase?? We still have them, K3STFNR
It comes up on the website. It is for mechanical vibration pickup dampening, mainly needed on the Main as that is used in TX. As the guy who originally discovered the microphonic issue, I can assure that it
affects receive too. I found it by noting sidebands on received audio due to the internal speaker modulating the synthesizer. External noises can do the same.
