Wayne,
I think you use a MAC, but in case you have a PC at your disposal, you can sign up for a free PC remote control service called LogMeIn (www.logmein.com.) They have an app at the iTunes store called LogMeIn Ignition that will let you remote control the PC from your iPhone. You can run an app like Ham Radio Deluxe on the PC to control the K3. Unfortunately, LogMeIn Ignition is the most expensive iPhone app I've seen, at $30. I use it for remote control of rotors on my tower while climbing, so it was worth it for me. LogMeIn works on the MAC, too, but I don't know if there are any MAC-based K3 control programs. 73, Dick WC1M -----Original Message----- From: Wayne Burdick [mailto:[hidden email]] Sent: Saturday, June 27, 2009 3:37 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] IPhone apps: remote control of K3, etc.? The K3 is not the problem! It's nice and portable. The antenna IS the
problem! Make an adapter and load up 100 watts into the headphone port... The K3
has a wide ATU in it so you should get a decent match on a few bands... Make sure you install the Antenna app first though! ~Brett On Mon, 2009-06-29 at 21:08 -0700, David Y. wrote: > The K3 is not the problem! It's nice and portable. >>> Anyone have iPhone ham apps to recommend?
I found a Ham Log that looks interesting ... it's written for the iPhone and iPod Touch and costs $1.99 ... the developer just released an update in early June ... http://www.n3wg.com/hamlog/ It has QRZ.COM lookups, log export, DX Spots, Q Sigs, U.S. Ham Frequencies, etc ... Do an Apple App Store search for "HamLog" ... Weymouth Walker (Wey) ... Thank you, Weymouth.
I'm given a limited amount of promotional codes to give away HamLog for free. To give back to the Elecraft community that has served us all so well over the years, I'd be happy to give away the software to the first ten iPhone owners who reply direct. The codes expire after four weeks and are worthless without an iPhone so please only request a promo code if you have an iPhone. 73, Nick N3WG On Tue, Jun 30, 2009 at 1:54 AM, Weymouth Walker <[hidden email]>wrote: > >>> Anyone have iPhone ham apps to recommend? > > I found a Ham Log that looks interesting ... it's written > for the iPhone and iPod Touch and costs $1.99 ... the > developer just released an update in early June ... > > http://www.n3wg.com/hamlog/ > > It has QRZ.COM lookups, log export, DX Spots, Q Sigs, > U.S. Ham Frequencies, etc ... > > Do an Apple App Store search for "HamLog" ... > > Weymouth Walker (Wey) ... > K8EAB > Metro Atlanta, GA > > > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Control of the K3 through he IPhone? Na, what you want is a cell phone
option for the K3. Just think if it, you could accept / receive cell calls through the K3 and probably even do on-board phone patching. - Keith N1AS - - K3 711 - ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

It seems Wayne is thinking about an Iphone fieldday!
Leave your K3 safely at home folks! Get Ipaddle/Ikey from appstore and off you go. :-) Paul PD0PSB <quote author="Darwin, Keith"> Control of the K3 through he IPhone?
