I can not find the text definitions in the manual (Rev C-1, Nov 18, 2007), or the errata sheet (C1-5, May 6, 2008) for 'CONFIG' settings for the following:
FM DEV FM MODE MIC BTN PWR SET RFI DET EXT ALC (TECH MD) Once I stumbled across 'FM DEV' I was able to get the FM mode up and running all okay. What is the recommended setting for the FM DEV on the 29mhz band? I'm using 5 for six-meter but not sure about 10-meters. You will find definition for all these in the firmware release notes -
new features are often documented there first, and only later on do they appear in the Manual. I do wish that there was a direct link to the *complete* version of the release notes on the website - at present persons are told to access it via the K3 Update Utility help menu. One way to get to it quickly is via the FTP site. There's a link to the FTP site at the bottom of the K3 Software Page - the file in question is "hfwnotes.rtf". Hello, Oms!
The K3 Utility copies the hfwnotes.rtf file into your local firmware folder along with the firmware files whenever you copy new firmware files from the Elecraft FTP server. It should be in the folder shown in the "local folder for firmware files" section of your configuration page. That's the place the K3 Utility looks for it when you display it with the Help - K3 Firmware Release Notes function. You can also use the standard Windows Accessory "WordPad" to view or print this file. 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of py5eg Sent: Wednesday, June 25, 2008 4:38 AM To: Bob Cunnings; [hidden email] Subject: RES: [Elecraft] K-3 CONFIG settings Hi I didn´t find the hfwnotes.rtf file? 73 Oms PY5EG -----Mensagem original----- De: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]]Em nome de Bob Cunnings Enviada em: terça-feira, 24 de junho de 2008 17:57 Para: [hidden email] Assunto: Re: [Elecraft] K-3 CONFIG settings You will find definition for all these in the firmware release notes - new features are often documented there first, and only later on do they appear in the Manual.
