[K1-2277] Voltage Check P1 pin 16 voltage is Supply - 0.24V not Supply - 0.3V

Richard-3
I'm trying to determine whither I have a problem or not.  I measured my
supply voltage at 13.22 V.

My voltage check at P1 pin 16 shows a voltage of 12.98 V (Supply - 0.24V).
If I calculate the predicted voltage it would be 12.92 V (Supply - 0.3V).

I'm off by 0.06 V.
Is this a problem that needs attention?  What should I look for?  I've
looked for cold solder joints and found none, but old vision may not be the
best.  I've also taken some digital photos to double check.  The only
problem I found was what seemed to be a bunch of resin in one through-hole
for C8 (first noticed when I tried to install C8).  I desoldered that
connection and cleaned out the hole and resoldered.  It seems fine and not
relevant to a pin 16 problem.  No change in pin 16 voltage.

The good news is that I passed the smoke test!  This is my second kit.
First was a RockMite.

Thanks for any help.

Rich

Richard,

You may be cutting the straws too thin.

What that means is simply that your series diode has a voltage drop of
0.24 volts rather than the nominal 0.3 volts - that is 'goodness' - a
low voltage drop across the protective diode is to be desired.

Hi Rich,

Many DMMs show you a digit or more than they can actually measure.

0.06V is 0.45% of 13.2V so I really wouldn't worry about it. The K1 is
not a R&S ESU EMI test receiver... hi hi
