K1 (Again)

Simon (HB9DRV)
Regarding the K1 which I am not going to buy as I am not a junkie in any way
and have everything under control (contd. page 84).

I think it makes more sense to buy the T1 ATU rather than the KAT1 as the
price difference is not great and it can be used with any future QRP radios
which I am not going to buy.

KNB1 noise blanker - really needed? Is it any good? I only get problems with
cattle fences and in the summer the jolly farmers string them out all over
the place (my spaniel discovered this while relieving himself last week -
poor guy).

"I Can't Believe It's a Kit!" I can - when you open the box all the bits
fall out, I don't think it's a jigsaw.

I should have written "when you open the box after plenty of fine German
beer without much light".

There is no harm in buying the T1 first as you can buy the KAT1 later if
you want to reduce the number of boxes and cables to pack and want the
automativ bandswitching.  If those turn out not to be issues, you have
saved money, and if not, you get another kit to build.
