Hi,
I am building a few additional add-ons for my K1/K2's in there respective matching enclosure. My metal work not being "perfect" requires a bit of touching up here and there restoring the case to its full glory. I am trying to find the color that matches the K1/K2 and a source of it! I remember seeing this on the reflector before, but I just can't find it now I need it - any suggestions? Just a few days ago a fellow asked the same question. Elecraft sells the
touch up paint you need. Just look through the parts pages on their web site and you will find what you seek. GL, Kevin. Ian;
There are two solutions to the problem. One is exact, the other is awfully close. For touching up the K1/K2 etc. color, Elecraft sells small amounts of the exact matching color. If, however, you are building support boxes and want an awfully close match (but not exact), Rustoleum Textured #7221 Dark Pewter spray paint comes awfully close. I picked up a couple of cans at Home Depot for my projects. You have to look really close to see a difference. You'll find the paint behind locked gates, and be sure to bring your id no matter what your age... (sigh - the joys of living in California...)
