I see a lot of discussion on the reflector about microphones for the
K2. I have the sideband adapter for my K2, but haven't built it yet. Since I actually use a mic about once every five to ten years, I hesitate to spend a lot of money for one. I have two extra Icom mics. Will they work ok with the K2? I don't need the best audio since it will probably never be used anyway. Hi Scott, Both HM36 and HM12 work well with my K2. In fact, KSB2 is very accommodating. It also works well with most Kenwood mics like MC43s. I have recently bought an Azden mic (dynamic moving coil, made in Japan). The mic only costs me US$20 but works very well with my K2 as well. Therefore, I believe it is not demanding for microphone requirement in K2. 73 Johnny VR2XMC From: [hidden email] To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] K2 Mic Date: Tue, 2 Jan 2007 21:46:08 -0600 I see a lot of discussion on the reflector about microphones for the K2. Scott,
Most Icom mics work well with the K2, but you did not specify which ones you have, so we cannot give a positive answer - you will have to try it and see. Just follow the mic configuration header wiring shown for your particular mic in the KSB2 manual. 73, Don W3FPR > -----Original Message----- > > I see a lot of discussion on the reflector about microphones for the > K2.
