As the title suggests, I have installed P! on the RF board on the wrong side
of the board. I am sure that I lack the skill and equipment to remove the connector now that I have made this serious error. What do I do now? Thanks in advance. ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Jerry,
The best way to recover is to remove the plastic from the P1 body and then remove the pins from the board one at a time. You may be able to slide the plastic bar off, but if not, break it with your cutters. Clean up with solder wick, and if solder remains in the holes, a heated stainless steel needle or a wooden toothpick can be used to open the holes. Before doing all that, an email to [hidden email] with the part number should have a new connector on its way to you. 73, Don W3FPR On 6/22/2011 7:30 AM, Jerry Roe wrote: > As the title suggests, I have installed P! on the RF board on the wrong side > of the board. You do not lack the skill needed, but you will need a new connector! You can get one from
Elecraft. Cut the old one off with your flush-cutting wire cutters. Just cut through the plastic. Then remove the pins one at a time. Clean the holes with solder wick. Install the new one. That's it.
