K2: VFO stuck on 15M

JT Croteau
Weird problem, just switched to 15M and decided to tune around and see
if there was any openings when my VFO on 15M locked up.  When I
switched to 15, it was on 21.070 and as I spun the dial up it stopped
on 21.100 and wouldn't change in either direction.  Both the display
and VFO appear to be locked on this band as the frequency doesn't
change as I spin the VFO.  Direct frequency entry appears to work but
as soon as I touch the dial it jumps back to 21.100.  All other bands
are working fine, this is only a 15M problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks

JT,

Those symptoms could indicate that the 15 meter entries in the EEPROM
have been corrupted.
Try running CAL PLL before doing anything else - don't forget to plug
the frequency counter into TP1 and switch to 40 meters.

If CAL PLL does not correct it, record all your menu entries and try a
master reset - then run CAL PLL and use CAL FIL to re-do the filter and
BFO settings.

There are just no hardware problems that I know of which could cause
that behavior on only one band - all bands, then yes it would likely be
a hardware problem, but not a VFO failure to tune on one band.

Negative.  It is one of the first things I checked.  I'm going to try
doing a CAL PLL like FPR suggested.  Hopefully I won't have to do a
master reset as I finally have all my CW, SSB, and RTTY filters just
the way I want them.

Well, CAL PLL alone did not work.  I had to do a master reset.

Now to put all my settings back...

Thanks Don
