Good evening to all, is there a way to put off the K2 100 kPa for the 10w version for travel and 100W QRP version home 73 , Christophe F8ACF-56 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Christophe -
The easiest way to do this, if you will be changing from one configuration to the other frequently, is to mount the KPA100 in a separate EC2 cabinet. I do this with my K2, and it works great. I also have the KAT100 antenna coupler in the same EC2 box, but you can do this with just the KPA100 alone. It makes for a beautifully integrated station that converts instantly from 10-watt QRP portable to 100-watt base operation in less than a minute. There are numerous articles on various web sites that detail how to to this. You will need the KIO2 interface module in the base K2 if it doesn't already have one. - Jim, KL7CC On 5/4/2013 11:54 AM, Christophe F8ACF-56 wrote: > Good evening to all, is there a way to put off the K2 100 kPa for the > 10w version for travel and 100W QRP version home 73 , Christophe F8ACF-56 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Hello to all, Ron thank you for having informed me, but it's great! I thought the K2 enter K2/100 is no longer usable by raising the "KPA 100"! the further I go the more I happily discovered that there forum with all the oms and yls! for me the K2 works wonders! thanks to you and we can thank our friend Don, I begin to think that Don and K2 are one person. I am now under construction "KAF2" I'm not in the immediate project in the U.S. to go, but that day I will if it is possible Elecraft visited the factory, more on this story pationnate what the K2! 73 F8ACF K2 # 7369 73 , Christophe F8ACF-56 ________________________________ De : Ron D'Eau Claire <[hidden email]> À : 'Christophe F8ACF-56' <[hidden email]>; [hidden email] Envoyé le : Samedi 4 mai 2013 22h50 Objet : RE: [Elecraft] K2 and KPA 100 Yes, it's designed to do just that. Furthermore, you can have the KAT2 ATU and even the battery in your QRP K2 while traveling. You just change the top part of the radio. Your K2 comes with a "QRP cover" that contains the speaker and, if you desire, the KAT2 ATU and battery. You remove a few screws, lift the KPA100 amplifier module off of your K2 and replace it with the QRP cover. It takes less than 5 minutes. Not only is the K2 now self-contained with, if you choose, battery and ATU, it's a lot lighter, Hi! 73, Ron AC7AC -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Christophe F8ACF-56 Sent: Saturday, May 04, 2013 12:55 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] K2 and KPA 100 Good evening to all, is there a way to put off the K2 100 kPa for the 10w version for travel and 100W QRP version home 73 , Christophe F8ACF-56 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Christophe,
Changing from the KPA100 to the QRP top cover is a matter of removing 6 screws and removing the 4 cables between the KPA100 and the base K2. Add the QRP top cover and you are done. If your need to change from the 100 watt amp to QRP is frequent, consider mounting the KPA100 (and KAT100 if present) in an external EC2 enclosure. I just posted information on how to do that to the Elecraft reflector less than an hour ago. 73, Don W3FPR On 5/4/2013 3:54 PM, Christophe F8ACF-56 wrote: > Good evening to all, > > is there a way to put off the K2 100 kPa for the 10w version for travel and 100W QRP version home > > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
