I have a K2 with the external twin at/100 and pa/100.
My external 100 watt amp and tuner is controlled by the serial cable coming off the radio. I want to someday get a K3 and was wondering if the k3 would be able to control the external amp/tuner combo I currently have with my K2?? Unfortunately the K2 KPA100/KAT100 will only work with the K2. For the K3 you'll need to get the KPA3/KAT3 modules, or possibly get an external amp such as KXPA100/KXAT100 that can be used with both K2and K3 (albeit not as fully integrated as the dedicated amplifier/ATU options for each radio).

Nope. The six non-serial-port leads in that cable are K2 internal leads
very specific to the K2. 73, Guy On Thu, Dec 4, 2014 at 2:18 PM, Tim Edmonson <[hidden email]> wrote: > I have a K2 with the external twin at/100 and pa/100. > > My external 100 watt amp and tuner is controlled by the serial cable > coming off the radio. > > I want to someday get a K3 and was wondering if the k3 would be able to > control the external amp/tuner combo I currently have with my K2?? > > Thanks > Ka4wws > > Tim > ______________________________________________________________ > Elecraft mailing list > Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft > Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm > Post: mailto:[hidden email] > > This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net > Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html > Message delivered to [hidden email] > Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
