K2/k3 question

Tim Edmonson
I have a K2 with the external twin at/100 and pa/100.

My external 100 watt amp and tuner is controlled by the serial cable coming off the radio.

I want to someday get a K3 and was wondering if the k3 would be able to control the external amp/tuner combo I currently have with my K2??

Thanks
Ka4wws

Tim

Unfortunately the K2 KPA100/KAT100 will only work with the K2. For the K3 you'll need to get the KPA3/KAT3 modules, or possibly get an external amp such as KXPA100/KXAT100 that can be used with both K2and K3 (albeit not as fully integrated as the dedicated amplifier/ATU options for each radio).

Nope. The six non-serial-port leads in that cable are K2 internal leads
very specific to the K2.
