We've moved K3 f/w 4.51 and its matching DSP code from beta to final
release mode. K3 utility should now automatically see it when you check for new f/w. 73, -- Eric WA6HHQ --- www.elecraft.com ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

I have the Beta, is the "production" different? I'm guessing not or you would have said so, but just checking. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2012 Cal QSO Party 6-7 Oct 2012 - www.cqp.org ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
It's the same. Pre-beta, beta and production are just indicators of
confidence level in the code. If there were any changes at all in the firmware, it would get a different firmware release number. 73, Lyle KK7P >> We've moved K3 f/w 4.51 and its matching DSP code from beta to final >> release mode. I just loaded firmware 4.51 on my K3. Everything went smoothly. The load of MCU and DSP 1 and 2 were verified by the K3 Utility. However, now my front panel buttons no longer work properly. For example, PRE turns on/off NTCH. All the buttons seem to be affected. However, if I use the K3 Utility to send commands to the K3 they seem to work properly.
I tried loading all the software again, including the front panel firmware. Again the K3 Utility verifies the install, but the front panel buttons are messed up. Help!!! This sounds like you may have failed to load the appropriate front panel
flash (FPF) firmware. I'd try reloading all firmware. Mike,
This is not a 4.51 problem as far as I know - many have loaded it without incident. Hopefully you have a saved K3 configuration file. I would think you will have to do an EE INIT (Parameter Initialization) to recover, then re-load the firmware and finally restore the configuration data. If you do not have the saved configuration file, wait until Monday and contact K3support so they can lead you through the process of initializing all your options and doing the calibration steps - figure a 1 to 2 hour task for that. 73, Don W3FPR On 7/6/2012 10:13 PM, Michael Downs wrote: > I just loaded firmware 4.51 on my K3.
