Again, maybe I missed something - but this seems pretty straightforward.
Plugged a mic into the back mic jack, set bias, vox gain and anti-vox. All seems correct. and the vox kicks transmitter on perfectly. If I hit tune button I get full 100 watts out. But if I speak into the mic I get maybe 1/2 watt out. CMP and ALC show lots of audio - just as the book says it should. Everything seems adjusted correctly - just no output on SSB. I don't know the K3 yet, but ...
If you have LOTS of ALC, doesn't that indicate that something has limited the transmitter? Something has caused it to cut back? I re-did the XMIT GAIN. That was it. I had some trouble with the
firmware download prior to operating. I did not redo it after installing the KPA3. All is well now. Thanks for all the relies. 73, Doug -- K0DXV K3/100 #77 Leigh L Klotz, Jr. wrote: > Did you do the 5W and 50W XMIT GAIN calbration on all bands? For me, > that was the problem.
