K3: Can transmit RX segment recorded on DVR?

Oscar, WB5GCX
I recorded a few seconds of another ham's signal using the DVR so he could hear what he sounds like on the air.  Is there some way I can transmit that audio segment back out?  I couldn't find a way, or find anything in the archive.

If not, I guess I'll play it, capture to my Mac via the AF out connection on the K3, then e-mail him the audio file.

thanks,

Oscar

Digital Voice/Audio Recorder (KDVR3)
The DVR can continuously record receive audio
(up to 90 seconds). To start/stop audio record, hold
AF REC . To start/stop playback, hold AF PLAY .
The icon flashes during DVR use.
Playback position (0-90 sec.) is shown on the VFO
B display; “*” appears if you’re within the most
recent segment. Use VFO B to change the position.
For DVR voice message record/play, see pg. 29.

I find it helpful to keep a copy of the K3 Manual PDF file on my desk
top.  That way I can use the find feature to look up words and
phrases.

Oscar, Hold AF Play while PTT is pressed.

You may wish to have MON on at a comfortable level so you can hear when the
bit of recording you want to tx comes to an end. I believe firmware to turn
MON on autmatically in these circumstances (if not on already) is on Wayne's
list.

Re: [Elecraft] K3: Can transmit RX segment recorded on DVR?

Oscar, WB5GCX
Thanks Tom, I had found the user guide reference - but since it didn't address transmitting a recorded segment (at a 5th grade level :)  I wasn't sure if it could transmit or not.

Ah!  Geoffrey got me the key:  the monitor must be turned on/up in order to hear the segment being transmitted.  Yes, it would be good if the monitor could come on automatically when PTT is pressed and one plays a DVR recording.

Is this a great radio or what??

thanks,

Oscar

ERR TXG on 160

Thomas J. Hoedjes
hi Guys,

My new, second K3, gives me a 5 watt calibration failure on 160 -> only 4.3 w with results in an err txg

all other bands OK

and a 50 w calibration on 52mhz.. -> 19 w

all others bands OK.

How do I get 160 in line...?'

Any idea welcome
