Hi Mike: Yes a number of times. (four times in the rectnt ARRL RU) I've
also have a problem where the bandwidths & filters that I set up in Norm1 and Norm2 don't stick. I brought both of these to the attention of K3 Support and they advised that Wayne is aware of the problem and its on his list. 73, Doug ----- Original Message ----- From: "W0MU Mike Fatchett" <[hidden email]> To: <[hidden email]> Sent: Monday, April 16, 2012 4:58 PM Subject: [Elecraft] K3-Data mode RTTY >I keep setting the Data MD to 45 baud fsk and somehow the radio has gone > back to 75 baud a couple of times on it's own. Mike,
Were you using the K3's internal RTTY encoder/decoder? If you were using software on a computer, the baud rate setting on the K3 is irrelevant. 73, ~iain / N6ML PS. Yes. When you use a computer to generate FSK, the timing is generated
at the the computer - it just tells the K3 when to shift frequency... unless the software sends commands containing the text to be sent. The K3 Utility can do that (IIRC), but most common RTTY software doesn't. ~iain / N6ML On Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 8:28 PM, W0MU Mike Fatchett <[hidden email]> wrote: > For FSK? > > > Mike W0MU > > W0MU-1 CC Cluster w0mu.net > > > On 4/16/2012 9:26 PM, iain macdonnell - N6ML wrote: >> >> Mike, >> >> Were you using the K3's internal RTTY encoder/decoder? It doesn't matter unless you are sending RTTY with the paddles (or software that uses the "KY" commands). If you are using a normal FSK or AFSK interface from the computer the data rate is determined by the computer UART or sound card. 73, ... microHAM "keyer" interfaces (CW Keyer, Digikeyer, DigiKeyer II, microKEYER, microKEYER II, and MK2R/MK2R+) as well as Station Master and Station Master Deluxe *do not support* firmware uploading in *any* transceiver. It *may* be possible to upload to the K3 by setting Router's "Radio" option to "no radio (mode selected manually)" and powering the keyer from a dedicated supply. However, microHAM recommends using a true RS-232 port or KUSB and accepts no responsibility if the keyer is used for uploading firmware. I use RS-232 switches and a "real" serial port for updating all of my Elecraft equipment. 73, ... Jack: there is a K3 Utility Help troubleshooting page on MCU load failures. It has a step by step recovery procedure. Joe has it right, you will need to remove the microHAM router from the chain for the recovery.
I use ABCD switches to connect one KUSB to a variety of Elecraft products and another to connect a K3 to various interface products for testing. 73 de Dick, K6KR Sent from my iPad On Apr 17, 2012, at 3:35 AM, "Joe Subich, W4TV" <[hidden email]> wrote: > > microHAM "keyer" interfaces (CW Keyer, Digikeyer, DigiKeyer II, > microKEYER, microKEYER II, and MK2R/MK2R+) as well as Station Master > and Station Master Deluxe *do not support* firmware uploading in > *any* transceiver. > > It *may* be possible to upload to the K3 by setting Router's "Radio" > option to "no radio (mode selected manually)" and powering the keyer > from a dedicated supply.
