I would like to purchase a P3 in the future to go with my K3. But I don't have too much room left on the table to mount them side by side. Does anyone know of a desktop stand that I could mount the K3 on the bottom and the P3 on the top? Any help would be much appreciated. Mark KB3Z

I use bamboo shoe racks that I found at Costco to hold up my K-line station.
I have very limited desk space here. My three shelf rack holds a K3 (and room for another side by side) at about 4", a P3, W2, and DVM on the 2nd shelf, and a KPA500/KAT500 & DL2K on a third shelf. My paddle is underneath. The online store seems to sell a two-pack, individual shelves are available at my local store for about $30. I have a number of these against one wall of my office that hold plastic shoe boxes with projects and parts. http://www.costco.com/Seville-Classics%c2%ae-3-tier-Bamboo-Multi-Purpose-Sto rageShoe-Rack-2-pack-Includes-6-Shelves.product.11679096.html 73 de Dick, K6KR -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of [hidden email] Sent: Sunday, November 18, 2012 5:16 AM To: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] K3 Desk Top Stands I would like to purchase a P3 in the future to go with my K3. I use a small, free-standing shelf unit I bought at Home Depot. It's particle board with a faux wood finish. About 24w x 12D x 10H (inches). The bottom is open, one shlef in the middle and one shelf one top, creating 3 spaces. I have the K3 on top of the first shelf, so the radio is 6 inches above the desktop, with about one inch clearance above the radio, then the top shelf upon which the P3 sits above it.
It looks like this one: http://www.homedepot.com/Storage-Organization-Shelves-Shelving-Systems-Wall-Mounted-Shelving-Wood-Shelving-Systems-Closet-and-Shelf-Kits/h_d1/N-5yc1vZc4qr/R-100597822/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051 Barry W2UP |

Hi Mark,
I had my P3 mounted directly on top of my K3 for about a year with no problems. The K3 is tilted so to keep the P3 in place I laid some black shelf liner on top of the K3. I cut the liner to reveal the speaker and ventilation holes. I was able to push all of the buttons on the P3 without it moving around. I used shelf liner from Home Depot and it is non-adhesive and made in a waffle pattern with holes punched through. The speaker was slightly muffled but I use headphones most of the time anyway. My QRZ page shows how it looked. I now have the P3 to the left of my K3 because I added the SVGA option and I put an LCD monitor on a swivel arm overhanging the K3. 73, Mike K2MK
