K3 - EQ on CW TX

Nick T
Greetings K3 owners;

I am wondering if the TX EQ only works in SSB mode or if it also effects the CW tone as well. Does anyone have an answer to this? I would like to be able to shape the CW tone a little.

73,

Nick

Tx EQ only applies to modes where audio is used to create the final
transmission.  So it applies to AM, FM, SSB, DATA A and AFSK, but not
FSK-D, PSK-D or CW.

Rx EQ applies to all modes, so if you wish to alter what you hear, it
works in CW.

The spectrum from a properly keyed A1A signal is much narrower than even
a single bin on a typical equaliser.  If you hold the key down, it has
no width at all.  The keying sidebands (which cause key clicks if
excessive, but are necessary for the keying to work) are generally
reduced by filtering the baseband data (key shaping).

How would allowing equalisation on "CW" help improve the tone?
