Anyone had any issues installing and getting K3_EZ 2.0.0.8 to run correctly
on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit??? I ran this program K3_EZ on Windows Home 32 without any issues for a few years. (except the brief time 2.0.0.7 was available) It installs on my machine but after connected may close on occasion plus when trying to get the K3 TX and/or RX equalizer settings to read it won't read them or if it does they are incorrect plus the program may lockup causing other programs on my computer to freeze. It may also turn my NB, NR or preamp on when trying to acquire the equalizer settings. I originally installed it as a clean install without migrating anything. We have uninstalled it and reinstalled it several times. Also installed it as an administrator. We have tried different settings in the Pacing in setup without success. Also made sure the program isn't blocked. I did contact Bill N2BC and he said he has run the program on W7/64 for ages and suggested I install the latest which is 2.0.0.8 .....We started with this one from the beginning? All other Ham programs that I have reinstalled on Windows 7 64 bit appear to run fine with no issues observed. 73 de KE4WY Jim ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Jim...
No 'bad' problems here when loading 2.0.0.8 on my Win 7 Pro 64-bit PC. The only issue I had was running SWR sweeps on my yagi's. I had 'TUNE' power set to 10 watts and K3-EZ would randomly not accept data at random frequencies across the band. I could run the same band again and get different frequency spots where it would report infinite SWR. Since my LP-100A shows no such infinite SWR frequencies on any band, 40m through 10m, I surmise the K3-EZ has a problem. 73, Tom - W4BQF -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Jim Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2012 10:03 AM To: [hidden email] Cc: [hidden email] Subject: [Elecraft] K3_EZ 2.0.0.8 Anyone had any issues installing and getting K3_EZ 2.0.0.8 to run correctly on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit??? I'm running Win7 Home-64 bit and both K3_EZ 2.0.0.8 and the previous
version have run fine but fail to disconnect when requested. I have had to 'Ctrl-Alt-Del' to stop K3_EZ each time. Thanks for the suggestion of going back to 2.0.0.5. See there are a few with
the same issues. Stable and the TX/RX EQ works fine. Only little blip doesn't recognize the higher AGC settings (THR) in the current 4.51 Beta. Will stay with 2.0.0.5 for now. I run version 2.0.0.0 on WIN 7 Pro 64 bit, with no issue. I seldomly use
the program so have not gone to .8 version. The program disconnects from the radio and shuts down with no issue. 73, Bill K9YEQ -----Original Message----- From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Dave, W8OV Sent: Sunday, June 03, 2012 12:29 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [Elecraft] K3_EZ 2.0.0.8 I'm running Win7 Home-64 bit and both K3_EZ 2.0.0.8 and the previous version have run fine but fail to disconnect when requested. I too went back to the older version. I was having loading problems and
system (win7-64) errors when starting it. Contacted N2BC and he had me download a newer version - it loaded OK, but caused other problems with the system. Uninstalled it completely and installed the old version and all is fine now. Sometimes newer is not always best.
