K3 FP getting warm.

NZ0T
I noticed today that the front panel of my K3/100 SN 1502 with the newer DSP board seems much warmer to the touch than before.   With the rig on and having not transmitted for over an hour the PA temp is 30C while the FP temp is 34C.  Room temp is 22.7C.  I have never seen this before.  The rig is working fine as far as I can tell.  I recently loaded the latest Beta firmware 4.83 but otherwise have made no changes.    Have I just not noticed in the over five and a half years I've owned the rig or should I worry about this?
Or am I just getting old and can't remember? :)

Bill,

I would not think that 34 degC should be any cause for concern.  In
fact, I would not be concerned unless it got over 40 degC.  Most devices
are rated for an operating free-air temperature up to at least 70 degC,
and that is quite hot (158 degF).  In general, if you can hold your hand
on a device for 5 minutes or more, the temperature is OK.

I've seen it get as high as 40 C on a really hot day. This won't hurt anything.

Mine has been on overnight and is at 36c right now.  The PA is at 31c
and I've not transmitted since last night.  Ambient temperature is 73F
right now.
