K3 Heavy hum after Upgrade

CX7TT
Hello,
I did the 1.87 upgrade and today did the 1.88. I did not work any ssb
after doing 1.87 but today saw some posts concerning ssb output to drive
amps, etc. Sooo, I decided to check it out and found that I have heavy
hum on the keying of my MH2. I am set for FP.L with bias....I initially
had the microHam MKset up with MH2 going into the back of the MK (has
several snap on chokes from my O II days) and when keying the mike I
without saying anything, I get heavy hum and 8 bars of ALC; CMP flickers
with about 4 to 5 bars...MIC is set at 20 and CMP at 20 (worked ok in
the past). With CMP at 0, I still get 7 bars of ALC just by keying the
MH2. I can hear the hum when the MIC is anything above 3. I took the MK
out of the circuit...disconnected from computer and exited the
router....MH2 is plugged directly into front panel and all previous
problems still exist...Suggestions?
Is there a way to re-load 1.87 or even 1.86?

Tom,

I can't think of any reason that the firmware upgrade could have caused
this, but one of our engineers will be contacting you shortly to help
you figure it out.

tnx

RE: Re: K3 Heavy hum after Upgrade

Darwin, Keith

Heavy hum is rare.  Most experience ho hum or heavy sigh after the
upgrade.

:-)
