How does one do crossband on the K3? For example, transmit on 6m and receive
on 10m. Thanks, Dave Quick, KØEKL Minneapolis, MN _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. >From what I understand you must turn off the microphone bias in the menu. I
have a Heil pro-set and had to do this. If you have the Heil headset made for use with the K2 you leave it on. If I am wrong someone please correct me. This involves using the A/B and FREQ ENT switches. You'll figure it
out. 73 es GL, matt, W6NIA On Sun, 27 Apr 2008 10:40:28 -0500, you wrote: >How does one do crossband on the K3? Even for CW, where the bandpass filters have to switch between tx and rx?

If I am wrong someone > please correct me. you are right. the HC-4 and HC-5 elements are dynamic and don't need a bias voltage. in theory you could even burn the coil if you apply a bias voltage. the Heil headset for Elecraft have the IC-element, which is a condenser mike and this needs bias turned on to work. 73! de Werner OE9FWV -- "Heute ich, morgen Du" Inschrift auf einem Grabstein PGP-Key: <http://www.qsl.net/oe9fwv/furlan.asc> Fone +43 5522 75013 Fax +43 820 555 85 2621 Mobile +43 664 6340014 _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
