K3: KXV3?

Jay-86
I'm about to order a KRX3 and all upgrades.  My question is do you think
I will require the KXV3 should a panadaptor be released in the near future?

Thanks,   W6JDB

If all you need the KXV3 for is the IF out, save your money and just fit
a BNC socket to the blanking panel over where the KXV3 would fit. The
KXV3 has a direct connection to the main board from a BNC socket on the
rear panel, see the circuit diagram of it. My guess is that a future
Elecraft panadapter would use the IF out socket in the same manner as
the LP-Pan does.

For what it's worth, I run an external second receiver in the form of a
Perseus SDR... This is connected via the KXV3 using the RX RF in/out
connections and a simple ferrite splitter, input to the splitter
connects to RF out, one output goes to RF in the other to the Perseus.
There's a diagram of a ferrite splitter on my K3 page (link below).
