K3 Memory Recall - Acting Like Band Select

Jim - W6VAR
I've updated to 2.67 and I have Mem 0-9 set to nor, but i cannot access memory channels directly beyond 0-9. If I want memory channel 15, I press V>M, then as soon as I press the 1, I'm taken to memory 1. If I want 61, I get a "NOT SET" error becasue I don't have a memory 6.

I seem to recall this working properly in earlier versions. Has something changed or is there another setting I'm not current on?

I just upgraded to the second receiver, DVR and the two audio mods the other night if that has any correlation.

RE: K3 Memory Recall - Acting Like Band Select

Hi Jim

Memories 0-9 are quick memories which are accessed by the commands M-V and
then the keypad number. I have programmed each of those memories with each
band 160 thru 6 metres so that I can change bands without having to use the
up/ down button. I have also programmed the M1 thru M4 buttons to provide an
additional four frequencies in each band. In fact you can program VFO A and
VFO B separately so that in fact with all of the above I have up to nine
frequencies (each with pre-programmed modes) quickly accessible for each
band.

However I digress. To access memories 10 and upwards you simply press the
M-V command and then rotate the VFO A knob to get to the memory number you
require. To program a memory with the current VFO A frequency, mode and
selectivity you need to use the V-M command and then either press the keypad
number to be programmed (0 thru 9) or rotate VFO A for memories 10 and
upwards to select the number you want and then press V-M again.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, Barry. This should be true if CONFIG: MEM 0-9 is set to BAND SEL, but I have it set to NOR. In which case, 0-9 should NOT be in the band select mode and ALL memories should be accessable with M>V ## M>V...unless of course I missed something in the updates :)

Jim,

With MEM 0-9 set either to BAND SEL or NOR, the 0-9 buttons are *still*
quick memories.  You cannot enter two digits from the keypad - you must
use the VFO A knob to select memories with numerical value addresses
greater than 9.

Jim

My memory 0-9 is set to nor. I don't think you can select other than 0-9 via
the keypad whichever config setting you are in.

Okay, MY memory is failing me. Just reread the manual and quick memories it is for 0-9 and VFO-A for the rest...must have been a different radio. Is 42 to early for senility?

Thanks all!

Jim
