K3, PSK31 cables

I am trying to use PSK31 Deluxe v3.4 in Ham Radio Deluxe with the K3 and have a basic question.  The cable from  LINE OUT jack of the K3 to headset input of laptop computer should have stereo plug at each end?  The cable from LINE IN jack of K3 to mic input of laptop computer should have a mono-plug at each end?  I cannot see any signals in the lower grid of the display.

I set MIC SEL to Line IN, Mode to Data A.

The LINE OUT of the K3 goes to LINE IN on the computer (or mic in).

LINE OUT (or headphone out) of the ocmputer goes to LINE IN on the K3.

All,

Building the K3 was staight forward. No problems encountered.
Config was easy ( I read the manual during my holidays before I started
building this weekend).

One 100W PA to go... Will do that tomorrow or otherwise next Monday
evening or so. Now far too busy listening the CW contest. Excellent
receiver by all means.
