I have K3 766 setup and trying to do RTTY AFSK. Copied from a
previous post; 1. Connect speaker out from sound card to line in on the rear panel of K3. 2. Connect line in on sound card to line out on the rear panel of K3. 3. Go to main menu, use vfo b to select mic select and vfo a to select Line In 4. Turn on Vox by holding the Vox button. 5. Go to Main menu, select Vox using VFOB and pick a value for Vox gain. I have it set at 15 or so. 6. Use Mic to set line gain appropriately. Mine is at 15 or so. 7. With mode Data, press DATA MD and select AFSK A I have done all of these, but I cannot get the line in to go into transmit using VOX. If I move the connection from the computer over to the mic in, and change the mic in config to rear panel, it transmits fin. I am trying to understand why line out will not transmit? My FP is in need of the mod, but I have not performed that yet. I am doing all of this from the rear. -- Dave Wilburn K4DGW K2/100 - S/N 5982 K3/100 - S/N 766 "For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor the protected will never know." _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Perhaps you don't have enough drive to the LIEN IN for 4 or 5 bars of ALC? Or VOX iGN s not set high enough? Did you try the full range? 73, Lyle KK7P _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. I unplugged it from line in and plugged into mic in and it worked
fine. It did not seem to make any difference what I set the volume to when I plugged it into the line in. That portion is copied and pasted from an earlier release. It is a
laptop, and does not have a line out. My concern is that it works going into the mic in of the rear panel, but not the line in of the rear panel. Ok, I went back and played with it, and if I put it in Line In, and
rpl, I then had to adjust the 'line in / mic gain' to about 40 and it kicked in. Thanks. Meant to reply to all, so the list would be copied. Sorry, the coffee
is still brewing and has not yet been able to have its usual impact.
