Roger Huntley

K3 SSB Dead

My K3 does not work on SSB. All other modes work just fine. I downloaded
latest firmware thinking it might help but with the mic connected to front
jack and/or a headset connected to rear jack neither one of them work. With
key on mic it does transmit but no audio comes through. Any ideas before I
ship it back?

Hi Roger,

What microphone are you using? If it is a MH2, it requires Bias to be
turned on in the K3 menu.

Also, what are your mic gain and compression settings?

You can also switch the source for K3 mic audio between the front panel
and the rear panel in the K3 menu.

Might also want to try Line In as a source to see if it works.
This might isolate the mic itself or the mic input circuit as the
problem.

Try a different mic. I had an element or wire break in my Heil headset
the other day.
