This is going to have a very simple solution, and I'll feel very stupid
about it, but I can't get my K3 to go into LSB on 75m. Freq is set to 3.800.000 MHz, and the radio works just fine, only cycling through the modes gives me USB. No problems on 40m or 20m. I don't operate much phone and it was on 80CW following the SSCW, I was working with N1MM in anticipation of the SSPH coming up weekend after next. Related question: I don't seem to be able to select opposite sideband on any of the other bands. 20m and down offer only USB. Is my radio broken, or is this a technical difficulty in my mind. 73, Fred K6DGW - Northern California Contest Club - CU in the 2009 Cal QSO Party 3-4 Oct 2008 - www.cqp.org _______________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Post to: [hidden email] You must be a subscriber to post to the list. Fred,
Hold the left side of the MODE button to select the ALT mode. That will change the default sideband for that particular band. The decision was made some time ago that cycling through LSB, USB, DATA, DATA rev, CW, CW rev, AM, FM, etc. could be shortened considerably for normal use by remembering the normal sideband for each band - of course, you must select which will be your 'normal' sideband. Set it as you desire for each band. 73, Don W3FPR Fred Jensen wrote: > This is going to have a very simple solution, and I'll feel very > stupid about it, but I can't get my K3 to go into LSB on 75m. On each band that has a phone allocation, use the BAND button to navigate to
that band, press the MODE key enough times to get into USB or LSB, and if it's the wrong sideband for that band then HOLD the ALT key (the left side of the Mode button) to switch to the other sideband. You should be able to set up 80 and 40 for LSB and the remaining bands for USB and not have to do this again. See the firmware release notes associated with MCU firmware version 1.65.
