K3 Transmiter IMD figures

Keith Bainbridge-2
A friend has commented that in the ARRL test the IMD figures for the tx
chain of -27dB were pretty poor. I'm sure there was discussion about
this at the time the report was released but a search of the archives
hasn't revealed it to me.
Can anyone point me in the right direction so I can explain the results
to him.
Many thanks

I think the reference you are looking for is this: http://www.mail-archive.com/elecraft@mailman.qth.net/msg50667.html .

Subsequently I believe it was found that in the version of firmware used, the speech compressor was not being bypassed when the control was turned to 0. This added sufficient extra distortion to cause the -27dB figure that was quoted rather than the -30dB that Elecraft expected.
