Hi all,
After working perfectly for awhile my K3 has developed the following problem, when I key the mike and transmit in SSB mode the audo is coming through the speaker while i’m transmitting, I have not got monitor turned on and this happens wether using the internal speaker or headphones. I’m hoping this is just caused by me altering a parameter in the menu’s that I shouldn’t have done. Thank you in advance for your help Regards Graham G7NEH K3/100 #8095 ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

Are you sure it is coming from the K3 speaker and not from speakers on a
computer that is connected to the K3 line out output? Graham,
Turn on TX TEST mode and see if that condition is still present. If it is, double check the MON setting to be certain you did not inadvertently change it while trying to adjust the power level or compression. If it is gone with TX TEST, next try it while transmitting into a dummy load. If it is still gone with the dummy load, I would suggest you look to see what has changed in your antenna system because at that point I would suspect some type of RF feedback. 73, Don W3FPR On 4/30/2014 3:51 PM, Graham Pemberton wrote: > Hi, > Yes, definitely coming from the K3 I have not got anything connected at all apart from the antenna. > > Graham > > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |

> Yes, definitely coming from the K3 You say audio...but is it really audio, as in demodulated sideband? Or, is it undemodulated single sideband you are hearing? Big difference. If undemodulated, then it is likely a change in your grounding or something else that has affected the RF levels showing up in your mic or line inputs, or even your speaker system. Hi,
Many thanks to Don, Jim and others who took the time to answer my post, it was the MON setting that was causing the issue I must have inadvertently changed it as Don said below, now all working fine again. I’m glad it was only finger trouble. Once again many thanks for the help it was very much appreciated. 73 de Graham G7NEH On 30 Apr 2014, at 21:07, Don Wilhelm <[hidden email]> wrote: > Graham, > > Turn on TX TEST mode and see if that condition is still present. > > 73, > Don W3FPR > > On 4/30/2014 3:51 PM, Graham Pemberton wrote: >> Hi, >> Yes, definitely coming from the K3 I have not got anything connected at all apart from the antenna. >> >> Graham >> >> > ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to [hidden email] |
