K3 Unlocking Tx limits

zl4vv
I have just unlocked the tx limits on K3 #194 and can confirm that the ATU
TUNE function works ok on 5.680, the frequency of our Amateur Radio
Emergency Corp.

K3: Katiegram received - Ordered Nov 27

Alan Bloom
Received my Katiegram today.  It was ordered Nov 27.

K3/100, KAT3, KBPF3, KXV3, KUSB and 500 Hz and FM filters.

KRX3 and 6 kHz filter are backordered.

I'm going to take the 3-hour drive down to Aptos and pick it up when
they tell me it's ready.  Hey, it saves $20.40.  :=)

My chosen route to Aptos also takes 3 hours, but I'm aiming for
motorcycle friendly roads.

I would have thought that the real issue with working out of band is
that you become responsible for spectral purity compliance, so you need
instrumentation that can actually measure spurious outputs, whereas,
when operating in band, the system is certified not to violate such limits.

I would like to do the same but how?
our emergency frequencies are wide spread over the whole bands.

Hi Al
Picked mine up yesterday.
Cost me a lot more than shipping would have,
as I had to take my xyl out to a nice restaurant
on the pier at Santa Cruz.  Very nice outing
for us, plus a new toy to play with when we
got home :-)
