K3 Utility

Fritz2013
I am attempting to download the K3 Utility for the first time.  I am
operating Windows XP on an HP machine.  I have connected to one of the USB
ports on the front of the box and now to one of the ports on the rear of the
box.  The Utility is stalled at the "attempting to communicate" step.
Please advise.

Fred

It doesn't matter much which USB port you plug into, it's what serial
port that USB device is saying it is on. If your USB-serial adapter says
it's on COM3 then set your utility to COM3, and so forth.

I don't have one plugged in so couldn't tell you where to check to see
what it's reporting, maybe device manager. Good luck.

I'll guess that you haven't chosen the COM port that is connected to your
K3.  See K3 Utility Help, Troubleshooting, "Finding the right COM port" or a
title pretty close to that.
