For those of you that noticed the unexpected increase in low end bass
response in the last release, and then its removal in the current release, stay tuned. We are properly including it in in the next beta release. In the prior beta test release it was an unexpected bug/side effect that only appeared with the .1 Hz setting of the PBT control. We were pleasantly surprised at this and are now properly adding it so it is available in general. 73, Eric ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
Thank goodness for bugs!
I wonder if anyone understands why the bass was cut off in the first place? BTW: NR seems to work really well for CW now. It's actually helping the copy of the weak ones. 73 Steve N4LQ [hidden email] ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eric Swartz - WA6HHQ, Elecraft" <[hidden email]> To: "Elecraft List" <[hidden email]> Sent: Friday, August 28, 2009 12:58 PM Subject: [Elecraft] K3 -extended- low end Bass response back in next betarelease > For those of you that noticed the unexpected increase in low end bass > response in the last release, and then its removal in the current > release, stay tuned. Yo! Put the rig in the Civic with a 500W (audio) amp, an 18" woofer
and some Monster cables, tune it down to 50 Hz, and all my homies can be DX'in me from 5 blocks away. This is strange...
A lot of people (including me) have noticed and pointed out K3's initial lack of LF response compared to other sets. Also, a lot of energy has been put into finding causes&remedies both by users and developers. Now *a solution* is presented as a pleasant coincedental combination of FW data. Is the K3 really starting to make its own decisions for the future beyond control of its talented fathers? Or is this an "Okay, you guys out there were quite right about this LF matter" in disguise? In any case:Happy to hear those vocal cord frequencies coming through now...A huge step forward. Tnx for the hard work. 73' Paul PD0PSB
