Only worked 206 stations in the 160m contest but had a great time with
the K3. I can tell you, this is by far the best radio I have ever used
in contest conditions. Only 100 watts netted 13 new countries and 33 states.

Bill,

I more than doubled last year's score without doubling QSOs, which means
that I had a greater percentage of non-US QSOs. I originally attributed this
to improved conditions and was surprised to hear from other "nearby"
stations that conditions for them were not as good as last year.

I had completely forgotten that this was my first CQ WW 160 with the K3, but
I do remember marvelling during the contest at my ability to hear and work
EU and near-AS stations that were calling "underneath" US/VE stations.

This is even more amazing since I use the same, omnidirectional antenna for
both TX and RX.

Had to jump on a plane before the end of the contest, so didn't get a chance to post to 3830.  Had an amazing experience Fri night with the K3 listening on the Eu Beverage.  I dialed the width down to 100-200hz, turned off AGC, throttled back the gain, and slowly tuned from 1810-1860 working one European station after another after another that was closely adjacent to s9++ US stations.  Simply incredible performance from the K3 rx and great testimony to the AGC-off school of operating.
