Mike,
I had this exact same problem during CQWW. It turned out to be RF getting into the K3 thru the contest keyer leads, which I had never hooked up before. Wrapping all the leads with RF chokes/toroids fixed the problem...check to see that you have not added something new recently. I also assume that if you have a beverage connected to the Aux Ant, that you also have an RF limiter in that line, as that can raise havoc with the K3 as power is increased--especially true when you add in a linear amplifier. Hi Paul -
As I said, it's a friends rig. I'm sure he doesn't have a beverage. No clue if he's added anything lately, but I'll check when I see him again. 73, Mike Paul wrote: > Mike, > I had this exact same problem during CQWW. Just check the connection at the power supply. Mine was bellow my operating
desk and after a few days of frustrations, looking for RFI, installing ferrites, RF chokes I finally discovered that the nut at 5 way binding post was loose. I had the right voltage on standby but not enough transmitting. 73 Reinaldo, YV5AMh ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |
