K3 sub rx audio, etc.

alsopb
Is there a mono option?  That is where the sub and main rx audio appears in both ears?

If no antenna tuner, must one install the BNC connector?  I don't see ever needing to connect the sub rx antenna to any but the transmit antenna.   The firmware makes one choose either BNC or antenna tuner. There is no choice for none.

I'm confused.  Isn't the antenna tuner connected to TX antenna?  Are you saying
you don't want to be able to distinguish between the second RX and the MAIN RX?

Suppose I was working cross band and had it the way you want it.  How would I be
able to determine which band I was hearing?  Or if I were to work split in a
pile up, how would I know if that carrier I hear was on top of the DX or on his
listening frequency.  That would really make it hard on the pileup police.

I really would like to know why you want to convert it to mono.  No kidding.

This is for specifying the alternate antenna input for the KRX3. Not
selecting the alternate antenna input is "none".

I've found all sorts of uses for the BNC that I didn't envision when I
installed it.  Since you don't have the KAT3, I encourage you to
seriously consider adding the BNC with the KRX3. It comes with the KRX3
and only costs another 30 minutes or so in the installation.

I had my KRX3 initially set up with the KAT3.  Later in the development
and testing cycle the BNC cable became available, and I installed it.

I'm leaving it with the BNC!

I'm not sure why you would want to select 'none' for the second RX antenna
.... You wouldn't hear much.
It appears the SUB RX can have the same antenna as the first RX or the BNC
below ANT 2 for a separate antenna.

We used to go to Zone 2 up on James Bay for CQ WW SSB with either a TenTec
Omni D or a Corsair (it was years ago) and on 40M we would TX around 7050
and listen 7050 & 7195 with the remote VFO.  It mixed audio to mono
headphones.  Didn't really care what freq the station was calling on - just
work them.  Hopefully the EU & VE stations were on 7050 and the US stations
were on 195!

Some people might find left ear / right ear from main RX / sub RX ...... I
used to find that very distracting before I kind of became used to it.

And ..... ask me my opinion in person some time about my thoughts on pileup
police ..... About the same as DX nets ...... but that's not a topic for
here!  :^}

Me too, Kyle.  I'm going with the BNC connector...

Not at present, but it's on the list.

No. Use of the sub receiver's aux RF input is optional. We'll clarify
this in the assembly manual if necessary.

Use "ANT=BNC" if you don't connect the sub's aux RF input to anything.
