Howdy K3' people:
I am playing with the SDR-IQ and a program called SDR-Radio. I previously thought that the K3 IF was 8.215mHz. However, today I ran K3-Utility and the Command Tester. I issued FI; and got back 6550 .. guessing that's a 6.550 megs. So I turned on 6m (internal not my XV500) and put the frequency to 50.067, that of the WZ8D/b , a beacon. I set the SDR-Radio console QRG to this new IF and somewhere around 6.499.094 I get a -80dbm CW ID of WZ8D. I could not find same beacon in the IF when the SDR-Radio QRG was set to rad the SDR-IQ box at 8.215 so what's the real IF of my K3 when the K3-Util command FI; returns 6550? -- 73 KD7YZ Bob ______________________________________________________________ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:[hidden email] This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html |

Per the K3 and KX3 Programmer's Reference:
"FI * (I.F. Center Frequency; GET only) RSP format: Finnnn; where nnnn represents the last 4 digits of the K3’s present I.F. center frequency in Hz. Example: If nnnn = 5000, the I.F. center frequency is 8215000 Hz. Intended for use with panadapters, which need to keep track of the exact I.F. center frequency as filter bandwidths and shifts are changed by the operator." 73, ~iain / N6ML On Thu, Dec 5, 2013 at 1:06 PM, KD7YZ Bob <[hidden email]> wrote: > Howdy K3' people: > > I am playing with the SDR-IQ and a program called SDR-Radio. > I previously thought that the K3 IF was 8.215mHz. > > However, today I ran K3-Utility and the Command Tester. You got your answer but why not just use SpectraVue, which works flawlessly with the K3?

SDR-IQ, SpectraVue and the K3 are a number one way to go..! Been using
that combo for a couple years now and have found nothing I like better.
