K3 toroid windings

RobertG
I just received my K3 "kit" and looking at the main RF board I notice
that on some of the toroids the windings are not evenly distributed
around the toroid circumference. Is it okay to move the windings around
to even them out or am I being nitpicking?

Nitpicking. They don't have to be evenly distributed.

Re: K3 toroid windings

Matt Murphy
Also I think the manual discourages this b/c many of them have been tuned.

Robert,

The K3 manual (or other communications) tell you not to change the
toroid spacing - unless you are explicitly directed to do so by Elecraft
support.

Just put the boards in - follow the instructions and enjoy the K3.
Those boards are tested and optimized for performance at Elecraft prior
to shipping.

Well, nothing like reading the manual <g>. Look first read later...
Thanks for the heads up by all.
