Still on dialup in Mike? Apologies if that's your only
option. Takes only a couple seconds to load here. The photo is a little grainy is from the ISO mode on the camera, which allows the flash to stay off. Otherwise it severely degrades the photo. Regards back, ;-) Don [Elecraft] K3 w/Aluminum Spinner? Mike Harris mike.harris at horizon.co.fk Sun Aug 10 12:45:42 EDT 2008 Or don't if you don't want a grainy 3mb picture of an aluminium disk. Never heard of compression? It was still a -huge- photo! And, I'm no longer dial-up. (:-)
All I could do is pan around and view small portions. No practical way for me to see it as a single photo. 73! Ron & Don
Does this mean there is a degree of Mojo to found in the K3 after all this wonderful dialogue of why this or that nit doesn't work? I certainly hope so My K2 and K1 are sitting here doing the Mojo thing every time I turn them on. Guess I can now entertain thoughts of getting a QRP K3 to round out my family of Elecraft products. Been holding off as I have been known to whine with the best of the best about truly insignificant things in the past. And then finding it was due to my repeated lack of following the directions in the manual (you know RTFM) that was causing me to go astray. Also found out that by not starching the briefs the personal stress factor was greatly reduced as well, but that's another story. so back into the wood work I go. Ron - agreed 100%
I could desire for nothing more in K3. I'll crop those files for the benefit of anyone taking the time to view. !! 73, Don --- Ron D'Eau Claire <[hidden email]> wrote: > Gee, Don, his comment might have been a bit abrupt, > but keep in mind that > many members of this list are on dial-up. But... your Mojo factor won't be total until you also have a loaded KX1! The KX1 is in my opinion one of the most sexy transceivers available to mankind. :)
If you haven't been backpacking before, you'll start backpacking then - tent included! (don't forget to bring emergency food provision which in my case was a can of sardines and a six pack...) Here's a link to a picture (32kb) of a very happy LB3SA on his first solo tent/backpacking trip with a freshly buildt KX1 and buddy pole: http://www.la8z.com/images/img5.jpg Are - LB3SA KX1, K2 and K3 (I know - but a K1 will join the others shortly after I receive my KRX3)
